Templeton Global Investments (TGI) is looking for Research Analyst/PM to join the team in Singapore. TGI offers bespoke solutions, unique insights and extensive client support with exceptional local access. Our capabilities support a wide range of investment needs whose objective is to create an unparalleled client experience.

This role will contribute to the management of Japan equity portfolios to drive strong investment performance and achieve client objectives. Success in this role requires deep market insight, robust analytical capabilities, and proactive collaboration with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

How You Will Add Value

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on Japanese companies’ financials, including cash flow and income statements.
  • Compile data from multiple sources and build financial models.
  • Perform independent research on Japanese public companies across sectors.
  • Analyze financial statements and other investment information.
  • Develop financial models and reports on assigned companies.
  • Present investment recommendations and provide regular updates.
  • Analyze economic, macroeconomic, and political developments in your coverage.
  • Maintain awareness of global market and economic conditions.
  • Support portfolio optimization with insights to the Lead PM.
  • Engage with clients, intermediaries, consultants, and internal teams.
  • Follow investment policy guidelines and compliance standards.


What Will Help You Be Successful in This Role
Experience, Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or Chartered Accountant (CA) preferred
  • At least 5 years of equity experience, preferably in the Japanese market.
  • Background in multi-sector research or investment preferred.
  • Portfolio management related exposure is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Ability to synthesize macro and micro trends into investment ideas.

Soft Skills

  • Effective communicator with ability to present complex ideas clearly.
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
  • High attention to detail and compliance focus.
  • Japanese language proficiency is a plus, given the scope of the role.
