Full job description
We are committed to advancing an economy that works for all by applying resources, expertise, and philanthropic capital to help expand opportunity and drive durable economic mobility. The Global Philanthropy team partners with mission-driven organizations across Southeast Asia to design and fund initiatives that improve access to quality jobs and skills, support business growth and entrepreneurship, and strengthen financial health. We are seeking a Vice President who can translate global strategy into regional and local context to deliver scalable initiatives, deepen partnerships across the firm, and drive measurable outcomes for communities. This role also creates meaningful, well-governed opportunities for employees to engage through programs and partnerships.
As a Vice President in the Global Philanthropy team, you will lead philanthropic strategy and execution across six Southeast Asia markets (Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam) and Australia to advance inclusive economic growth and strengthen community outcomes. You will translate global priorities into strong local portfolios, build high-impact nonprofit partnerships, and ensure programs are well-governed, outcomes-driven, and measurable. Based in Singapore, you will collaborate with senior country leaders and cross-functional partners to activate the firm's networks in support of scalable, evidence-based solutions.
Job responsibilities
- Set and lead regional and country philanthropic strategies aligned to local needs across Careers and Skills, Business Growth and Entrepreneurship, and Financial Health
- Identify gaps and opportunities, and build relationships with anchor institutions (nonprofits, intermediaries, development finance institutions, and other cross-sector partners)
- Design and deliver market and regional portfolio plans across grantmaking, thought leadership, employee engagement, and business collaboration
- Develop clear proposals for local, regional, and global approvals, including business case, implementation plan, performance measures, cost and value assessment, and scale or sustainability pathways
- Conduct due diligence and risk reviews across partner capacity, governance, delivery risk, and reputation considerations
- Manage a balanced portfolio of grants across the region, with a focus on impact, effectiveness, and continuous learning
- Oversee active grants to ensure delivery against plan, monitor progress, measure results, and adjust course when performance or risk issues arise
- Partner with Human Resources and employee engagement and volunteerism partners to connect programs with employee engagement and skills-based support
- Represent the firm with external stakeholders through convenings, partner discussions, and ecosystem forums
- Produce clear materials for internal and external audiences that explain strategy, outcomes, and portfolio performance
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 10+ years of experience in economic inclusion, philanthropy, international development, or community development with clear ownership of program results
- Strong experience in inclusive economic development and a demonstrated commitment to advancing economic mobility
- Strong knowledge of the Southeast Asia philanthropy and nonprofit ecosystem, including intermediaries, anchor institutions, and delivery partners
- Experience working with government and public sector stakeholders and building cross-sector partnerships
- Demonstrated ability to engage senior leaders on complex topics to align business capabilities with broader community and philanthropy objectives, influence without direct authority, and operate effectively across multiple stakeholders
- Strong strategic and analytical skills across program design, partner selection, implementation planning, and impact measurement
- Excellent writing, communication, and project management skills, including producing executive-ready proposals and narratives
- Strong judgment, prioritization, and the ability to deliver under pressure and tight deadlines
- Experience working within a large corporate environment and building partnerships across business, public, and nonprofit sectors to advance economic development goals
- Bachelors degree or equivalent.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Deep knowledge of Asia Pacific economic development ecosystems, including labor markets, small business enablement, and financial inclusion dynamics
- Experience designing and managing multi-country philanthropic portfolios with clear governance, performance management, and learning agendas
- Experience in one or more of these areas: Careers and Skills, Business Growth and Entrepreneurship, or Financial Health
