Background
The National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for the post of Dean, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
Founded in 1905, the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine is Singapore’s first and largest medical school, celebrating its 120th year anniversary in 2025. It ranked 13th in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2026 for Medical and Health and 17th in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings by Subject 2026 for Medicine. Today, the school conducts cutting edge research and delivers innovative education, generating high impact solutions that advance the practice of medicine in Singapore and beyond.
The School is an integral part of NUS, a comprehensive university with deep interdisciplinary collaborations across engineering, computer science, social science, public health, and other fields. It also benefits from a long-standing partnership within the National University Health System (NUHS), creating a unique environment that seamlessly combines education, research and patient care. The NUHS ecosystem brings together three tertiary hospitals (National University Hospital, Ng Teng Fong Hospital and Alexandra Hospital), three national specialist centres (National University Heart Centre, National University Cancer Institute and National University Centre for Oral Health), a comprehensive primary care system and three NUS schools in Medicine, Dentistry and Public Health. Together with other healthcare partners and research institutes in Singapore, the school is a key contributor to Singapore’s vibrant biomedical ecosystem.
